Andy Longley presents his final article in his series “The art of neuroscience of high-performance coaching”. This month’s article presents the concept of Coaches stimulating experimentation.
In October, we announced the addition of Andrew Leete to our board as our first independent board member. This month, we are excited to announce that Fiona Welch will also join our board.
Fiona, is a highly successful commercial leader, having spent 12 years working for DHL Express. Her last role was Head of Global Sponsorships where she was involved in negotiating and leveraging a number of significant partnerships, including the RWC, Manchester United, Cirque du Soleil, Formula 1. Currently, Fiona runs her own consultancy business “Untethered” where she provides expertise in partnership strategy, negotiation, brand and event management.
We believe Fiona will add significant value to our board, as we look to build a sustainable operating model. Please join us in welcoming Fiona to our board.
In addition to adding commercial partners, we need to build a vibrant membership base.
Can I encourage you to join Te Korowai. The annual membership fee is $360.00 per year or you can pay monthly ($30) by establishing a 12-month Automatic Payment

James Sandilands
Not so long ago a coaching pathway in performance sport was not always a clearcut option for James Sandilands but it has taken him little time to land in a spot that most coaches can only dream of.
Becoming the lead coach of high jumper Hamish Kerr
less than a year out from this year’s Paris Olympic Games was described as a “bold move’’ in some quarters but
the burgeoning partnership between the former junior competition rivals led to a result that will long live in the annuls of monumental New Zealand sporting achievements.
Sara McGlashan
Sara McGlashan was one of the first Kiwi women’s cricketers to receive a professional contract, and now the players she coaches can see a career in cricket for themselves, and even the chance to be world champions.
In 2013, four White Ferns, including McGlashan, were awarded with one-year contracts to be able to focus on cricket full-time – a huge initiative at the time. And this year, 15 White Ferns each received an extra $257,000 for winning the T20 World Cup.
