Welcome to the June 2025 edition of Coaches Kōrero.

Coaches Kōrero was established to create a forum to
connect, support and celebrate our Performance Coaching
Community in New Zealand.

In this issue we profile our most successful Black Caps
coach Gary Stead and cycling coach Elyse Fraser.

Last month we held our second regional connect in
Christchurch where we had Jared Higby from Taverndale +
Partners give an informative presentation on legal matters
that a coach should consider and be aware of.

Somewhat quietly, Gary Stead has put together an impressive record as Blackcaps coach over the past six and a half years. And that’s just the way he would want it. “I like to win but don’t let the results define me,” he says. “The results happen because of a group of people you have around you and the work you do together.”
